Has anyone tried this, and are there any known problems?
We tried it at Shark recently.. seemed to work fine - however we then noticed the parcel had totally disappeard from OL Search!?!?!?! Hadn't looked at search for a while so we don't know if it is anything to do with deeding the land to group, or an independent bug.
Any help or advice much appreciated.
Ana *hugs*

Hmmm... IS appearing in search now.. so i guess that was an independent problem.
Still interested in any comments about deeding land to group though. :)
I haven't tried it yet - too chicken :)
I would like to know when this works too. It would really make it easy to control who can build on a region. I think it is being worked on, but I have not seen anything official.

If anybody knows more, try to let everybody know. I simply don't know.

OK, I will be the test subject for you all. Seems to have worked for Anastacia so I will close my eyes and try it on Joy.. be back in a min with a report.
LOL yeah, that would be pretty handy. :D
OK.. deeded to group. Still in search and my alt shows they can build (yet when I try the prim does not appear) I will test that more later.

So, for me anyway.. no issues and perms to my alt works (build). If anyone wonders about specific tests just post what you want to know and I will try it when I can. :)
ah. I will try the alt trick (I have mainland). Thanks, Alicia.

LOL Lion.
So to summarise from the above ( I havent tried it yet) these reports suggest that it works? - ie. deed a parcel to a group. Set the parcel to group only build (ie not all residents). Members of the group can build ( and not estate managers with build powers, to confirm it). If the land is now deeded to the group can it be reclaimed by the region owner / group owner ?
hi Digi.. all I have been able to confirm, is that it DOESN'T effect Search. On more testing, group members have NOT been able to build i.e. have to switch build on... and we have NOT been able to reclaim the land - the reclaim button appears to work, but land has remained as group owned.
*sigh*
He he. I think I'll wait. Laughs.
Hi Yes I did and Lol
i have some land in demark and
man cant change the land name and the description
and if i do it just reset it back to wat it was
and if thay dont set there prim in my group i cant send it back

for mainland regions deed to group dosent work full stop tryed it and lost all control over region and had to get sakai to sort it

(From Digital Dreambuilder)

I have created a venue where OLPC developers or educators can meet in a virtual environment, regardless of their physical location on the planet - the OLPC Centre on the Openlife Grid.

The Openlife Grid is a virtual world (Opensim architecture) that allows people to meet and interact in a virtual environment. In that environment your presence is represented by a character on screen (avatar).

I am opening up the OLPC Openlife center as a place for any OLPC and XO developers and educators to meet. Although the location is virtual the immersive experience of 'being present' is there.
