Is it a bug or do we again have people here who want to destroy OL

well, I just logged into OL and saw that some of my objects seemed to be SSO or cyclone Nargis was on my sims.
first I tried, was to relog to see if it just was a login 'feature', but Nargis still has done its 'work'.
this means that certain types of my trees as well as some rocks and some animals are not in the place anymore they were yesterday.
I talked to my OL neighbor who has the same issues and he witnessed people possibly doing that. he also told me a name.
as I did not witness anyone, I don't want to repeat this name as I can not be sure that this was caused by anyone, may be, it is a bug too - no idea.

however, if this really has done any avatar, I would be absolutely upset
1. by this persons/these persons

2. that this is possible at all as my land settings do not allow objects to be moved by others nor object or script entry, so how can this be possible????????????????
when I first saw this mess, I laughed, but I do't laugh anymore atm. please see the pics that show the disaster. hope, it is just a bug and not silly people whose only joy is to harm others.

yep, I can post once at work, then again once only from home ....
Yep. OLG has arrived.
Hi, I'm new here, but I actually saw the person doing this on a welcome area!! first name of Pasquale...said he was going "to destroy the grid." Sorry i can't remember his last name :( hope this helps. :)
It is sad that some people can only focus on negative activities, instead of seeing what this grid can be and focusing on positive activities to help the grid grow.

BTW Welcome Stormee, hope you enjoy ur Open life here :-)

our positive energy is strong enough to just ignore these people, Ti

VERY true Pants and its people with this outlook (like ur self) that make this place fun :-)

Land repaired....... when's the next party...... hehehe

/agrees with Ti and Pant.

Miserable people have to make things miserable for others. I remember when freeze came to SL. Oh, the fun you could have on your land with a griefer and that tool. Like small children if you don't pay attention they eventually get tired and find another outlet. Give them much attention and they will grandstand like they have an audience of thousands. Mute, Sit on object and TP are all effective. When all else fails, click the exit button. They have no power over you unless you give it and we don't know these faceless internet morons enough to give that kind of power, right? :P
just a short info, this person or these people are still active. I forgot to uncheck the 'allow anyone to move' tick box in edit of some objects and............ they took advantage of this again and did some mess on Wind Blue (and obviously on other sims too).
So agaon, if you want to avoid this, check your objects permissions and uncheck the 'allow anyone to move' tick box if this permission is on. This also applies to items you have attached, so e.g. check your hair WHILE it is attached as if it is set to 'allow anyone to move' WHILE you wear it, they can e.g. unlink it and move your curls to somewhere or into nirvana.

Me takes the chance to replant Wind Blue later these days, I am not shocked anymore but rather pity those who do this as they waste their time in my opinion
Here's a tip : if you have items (trees, rocks etc) on your land that 'anyone can move' then, when you uncheck that box on the rezzed item, delete ALL instances of the item in your inventory (they will have the 'anyone can move' flag set), as well as other copies on your land, and take the rezzed item back into your inventory. That way you will not risk rezzing more of the same items that anyone can move whenever you add more content to your land from your inventory.
yes, thats right, digi and a good tip I forgot to mention

(From Digital Dreambuilder)

I have created a venue where OLPC developers or educators can meet in a virtual environment, regardless of their physical location on the planet - the OLPC Centre on the Openlife Grid.

The Openlife Grid is a virtual world (Opensim architecture) that allows people to meet and interact in a virtual environment. In that environment your presence is represented by a character on screen (avatar).

I am opening up the OLPC Openlife center as a place for any OLPC and XO developers and educators to meet. Although the location is virtual the immersive experience of 'being present' is there.
