And as Digi said, we're still waiting for "our" version (i.e., the Mac version) of R17

R16.4 rc1 for Mac is now available from the downloads page here

It is still Intel Mac only but according to Klee, the developer, a universal binary to include OS X PPC Macs is on its way.

Hey all. I just came in world the other day. I'm trying to find out if there is an equivalent of Second Inventory which will run on a Mac without me having to also run Windows. Anyone know?

R16.3 for Mac Intel users is now here. The 3DX announcement is HERE . And the download page for 16.3 is HERE. I am using it at the moment and am not having any problems with it so far. What was the problem with 16.2 for you Cinnamon ?

Hi Thank you for your reply. The answer was very simple once we worked it out. As we are unable to own regions as a group, we have one voted owner and the rest of partners are estate managers. In the update it seems the estate managers were all knocked off, hence no rights lol. I have to say we have had the region since October 2008 and its been very stable, I personally have not really had any problems, just niggles. Any way I digress, as usual. Again thanks for the reply.

Kip, I think what we are seeing here are largely server side issues ( asset servers slow etc ) rather than the viewer itself. Ive had these problems too (even when i run 16.3 on the windows laptop as well as 16.2 on my Mac), sometimes they also seem to be region related - whats performing poorly on one region might be ok on another.

OLPC Openlife Community

(From Digital Dreambuilder)

I have created a venue where OLPC developers or educators can meet in a virtual environment, regardless of their physical location on the planet - the OLPC Centre on the Openlife Grid.

The Openlife Grid is a virtual world (Opensim architecture) that allows people to meet and interact in a virtual environment. In that environment your presence is represented by a character on screen (avatar).

I am opening up the OLPC Openlife center as a place for any OLPC and XO developers and educators to meet. Although the location is virtual the immersive experience of 'being present' is there.
