You can have Rox now.

If you want a very good region in a good location, the Rox Region should be available soon.
It's on the North Coast, two regions east of Welcome Islands.
I have simply abandoned it so can't do any more there. Once you click that button... that's it, done!
You may/will have to prompt Sakai to take control and make it available to purchase as I have no power there now.

Wow... I have a blog thing

Laptop crapped out the other week so I just spent the past week getting a 5 YO pc fitted out. Swapped my old man's cpu for mine, 1600amd to 2662amd which is a bit faster and runs the tv now, added all my applications and configs, got the tv-out working, finally. Still stuck in mud but better than Hewlett Packards' NOTHING. HP You SUCK!!

I can't afford even 60 dollars a month anymore. Sales in SL have dropped by 60% in the last few months so my income to pay for Rox has too. I have not worked for 6 or 7 years and have no income in RL. Iv'e just spent 3 months working on scripting a house control system for SL but it won't work properly here. (missing functions I want to use, or more limited if I don't use them here) I have to see how that goes before continuing here. I'd try to adapt it but nobody knows what the script engine will be/do/end up as so I don't want to waste any more time in OL either.

Macca - I think the hair has gone! I had some hovering just off my coast but I no longer see it. I can't see any on Rox either :)

OLPC Openlife Community

I have created a venue where OLPC developers or educators can meet in a virtual environment, regardless of their physical location on the planet - the OLPC Centre on the Openlife Grid.

The Openlife Grid is a virtual world (Opensim architecture) that allows people to meet and interact in a virtual environment. In that environment your presence is represented by a character on screen (avatar).

I am opening up the OLPC Openlife center as a place for any OLPC and XO developers and educators to meet. Although the location is virtual the immersive experience of 'being present' is there.
