Hi Everybody!
I have not been here for a while because my computer went south------everything on my hard drive and the backup drive was deleted. Secondly, I was working on a website specifically so advertisers and shoppers can connect so there was not much free time.

I was not a PHP programmer, but I wrote lots of applications for Ford and Chrysler--so I thought I would dive in and
see what I could come up with. Learning the language was like starting over LOL, but I got something working pretty well and lots of others are posting ads now. It is free too!

I am not going to say this is perfect or finished (every day I think of something else I can do)-----but it does work, and I work on it a lot. So, if the interest keeps up I will do more and more as time passes.

This is built on a model similar to SLX------You can put as much information as you want in the listing setup for an
indivual product or for an entire region if you want---and up to 10 Pictures of it. There is a tool available at Lions Den
where you can copy and paste the coordinates of your product into the Product Location box (on the Listing Setup page), so when a shopper first logs in to OL he can land right in front of the product you are selling. I am working on a way to do something similar if you are already in world to TP to the location--but it is not in the program yet.

I will ad other nice to have things too------like email, blogs, forums and so forth, but I have to walk before I can run.

Anyway--it is my effort to get the economay going again in OL and hopefully it will help. I have included a couple pictures here--but the best thing to do is log on to the site and look around.

Shoppers can now Log into the region where a product is located and land right in front of it from OL's login page---or, TP to it AFTER they have logged into OL. To make it work, advertisers need to supply the url coordinates of the product to do it, but there is a tool they can pick up at Lions Den to easily get the url of the product. Otherwise, av's will log into the region and have to look around for the product.

Many thanks to Digi for help on this--and of course to the many people that are trying it out.
I will do whatever I can to make this useful--so Im me if you think of something I can do.

Never mind--got it. Replacing any space in a region name with %20 does the trick.
Now people can TP to a location if they are in world when they use the website.

Any ideas about handling a Region Name that is two words though? For example, Lions Den returns
http://url3dx.com/openlife/Lions Den/89/199/23--but the space between Lions and Den does not give a url that will work. What it provides is http://url3dx.com/openlife/Lions. I was hoping that replacing the space with
  would work , but it does not. uggg

Any ideas anybody?

small update - I forgot to mention that you can copy the url3dx clipboard easily by bringing up the map and pressing the 'Copy url3dx to clipboard; button

There are 2 other ways of getting to a grid location.

(1) Use the viewer uri for the destination. Copy/paste or type the destination into chat using the following format and click on the link in the local chat panel for instant teleport (modify the region and coordinates as appropriate)

openlife:///app/teleport/Merina/127/127/23

(Also very handy in a group IM where you only need to send a single TP invite to all online in the group to attend an event)

(2) Use the url3dx format (like SLURLs). Note that they ONLY work if you are inworld. You can't yet go directly inworld from a url3dx in your browser. Url3dx uses the following format:

http://url3dx.com/openlife/Merina/127/127/23

If the destination region or parcel directs arrivals to a landing point instead of 'anywhere' then you won't actually end up in front of the product (but if beacons are on in your viewer the big red arrow will point to the destination).

Cheops-------When you take your picture in OL--------use the size button on the page where you take the picture in OL. Leave it at png, but set the size to 800 by 600. It will automatically be the perfect size for the website to use without you having to edit it at all. That will cut a huge amount of time off what you must have
spent.

What I do, is go to OL. Take my picture, Pull out the Product URL Tool and copy the URL to the clipboard.
I also write down the number of prims, and price. I can put an ad up there in about 1 minute if I do that.

Unfortuantely there is no way to pass all that information between OL and the website automatically.

I tried it!
I'd advise : you sit comfy in front of your computer, both the classifieds web site and Openlifegrid open, your preferate drink on one hand...
With the other hand, you land in OL in front of your product, take pics of it, resize the pic, while you create your new list on the website, fill the descriptions as asked, go back to OL for price verifying, upload the pic from your computer, drag the Lion's tool from your inventory inworld for adding the LM...Naaa you'll not be able to taste any drop of your drink!!! There is a long time you have put down your glass and asked for a third hand around you.... BUT.. From the second try it goes better and very quickly. AND above all, when you go back to the shop page and see how your work looks like, you smile very pleased and you forgot that you were so thirsty!
I'm teasing ;-) it is worth it!
