I have no idea what you were talking about, but possibly an inkling of the concept from watching the visuals.

Whatever. The video, the professional way it has been created and presented and the highly effective use of merging real life into a virtual world are a credit to all those involved.

Applause.

Hi Cheops,

I enjoyed this video on many levels and think you and Digi have done a splendid job. I've looked at quite a few use case videos such as yours but all the others fall short of connecting rl to vw.

Being a pioneer is difficult work but your rl expertise, thoughtfulness, and high energy are what is needed for the work ahead. I look forward to the next phase of your experiment to bring the vw collaborative workspace concept to http://www.centres-sociaux.fr/ and wish you the best!

This a french version I made with Digi and the help of some of you here, for trying to make use OL by the collaborators of 40 regions in France, working all togeither on the same project developped since 100 years about settlements (the english word for "centres sociaux", the first settlements appeared in england and US at the end of the years 1800 : they are houses on towns and districts where people need some.... empowerment....) This network is using collaborative methods, and I really hope they will discover our world here as a new tool helping their projects.

(From Digital Dreambuilder)

I have created a venue where OLPC developers or educators can meet in a virtual environment, regardless of their physical location on the planet - the OLPC Centre on the Openlife Grid.

The Openlife Grid is a virtual world (Opensim architecture) that allows people to meet and interact in a virtual environment. In that environment your presence is represented by a character on screen (avatar).

I am opening up the OLPC Openlife center as a place for any OLPC and XO developers and educators to meet. Although the location is virtual the immersive experience of 'being present' is there.
